5 Simple Journal Pages For When You Have No Inspiration

Who doesn’t know that moment when you desperately need to write something down on your journal but have no idea how to make the page look cute. I sure know that feeling and it can be very frustrating. Usually, I keep staring at the page which makes it even worse but over time I have collected a couple of simple decoration ideas that I always go to when I have no other idea. Today I want to share those ideas with you guys. Do you have a go-to spread?

Adding a sticker in the right bottom corner

I love stickers and over the last couple of years, I have collected a tone of them. If you want to go for a quick and very simple page decoration they are a great choice and depending on the sticker you use each page looks different. You can also mix things up by placing the sticker anywhere else on the page or drawing your own doodles instead of going with a sticker.

Draw out a key word

If you don’t have anything do use to decorate with you this is a super easy way to add something to your page. Choose a key word for your page and write it out big. You can choose different fonts and colors and you can always choose another spot to place your word. You could also add a definition underneath.

Make big paragraph titles

This is something I think looks super cute but I kind of forgott about. Choose paragraph titles or key sentences and write them out bigger than your other writing. This is similar to writing out your keyword super big. If you do this it is also easier to know what your page is about when you flip through your journal later on.

Make a patterned background

This is something I started doing after reading @agirlwithajournal’s journal prompts class and I have been in love with it ever since. To decorate a page I choose a pattern to draw with my watercolors. Most of the time I go with circles, triangles or stripes. The process of drawing a pattern is also super relaxing. Once it has dried I then write over it.

Stick something on one side of the page

This is a great thing to do when you don’t have a lot to write. In the picture above I just put a magazine cutout on the right side of the page but there a lot more things you can use. You can use journaling card, write out quotes or lyrics or draw one big doodle on one side.

And that is it for my five go to page decorations for when I have no inspiration to do anything fancy. Thank you so much for reading until the end. Are you going to give any of these a try?
