Laia is one of my longest penpals and we decided to send each other five Items the other one would have to use to create a page in her journal. As awesome and kind as Laia is, she sent me a giant package full of goodies from which I put together this journal page. I hope you enjoy

How To Include A Lot Of Pictures On Your Journal Page – Even After It Is Finished

Over the last couple of months, I stumbled over the same problem a couple of times. For example, after I went to my prom and graduation. I had an amazing evening and of course, I wanted to journal about it right away but I didn’t get the pictures from that day until almost a month later. I knew I probably had to wait for them for a while but I still wanted to include my pictures on my page from that day. Luckily I found a way to work out my problem without having to wait for the pictures to work on my journal page. I worked on my page without even worrying about having to include the pictures and added them later using a little envelope. Here is how I did it.

This is the page I made right after prom. It already has two tip-ins on it. The cover of the program with some pictures I took myself on the back and my ticket with a picture on the back as well. The page is filled with writing and frankly, there wasn’t much space left to include much more pictures. Not even as tip-ins.

First I printed all my pictures using my dad’s old printer because I didn’t manage to print them properly at the store. I just couldn’t wait to get started. I printed them pretty small so nine pictures would fit on an DIN A4 sheet of paper and then cut them all out.

Next, I made a little envelope to put the pictures in. Since my page already was white and gold I used some white cardstock with some gold foiled hearts on it. Since I already loved the cute pattern I didn’t have to do a lot of decoration. All I did was label the envelope with “pictures” and added a little camera sticker. The gold foil is very shiny as you might see in the picture. I did forget to make sure the hearts were right side up but I still think my envelope turned out pretty cute.

Last but not least I put the pictures inside and stuck the envelope on to my page just like a normal tip-in. Now I just have to flap it out and I can take out the pictures to look at them. It was really hard to take a picture of this though as I had only one page to old the journal and it kept closing : )

How To Include A Lot Of Pictures On Your Journal Page - Even After It Is FinishedI feel like the envelope is a cute little addition to this page and now I can keep all my memories from that night on one page. I did do an envelope tip-in to hold some more pictures before and I loved how that turned out as well. There is something special about printing out pictures. Most of the time I feel like if I don’t they will all get lost on my computer. By printing them out and putting them in my journal I make sure I won’t lose them and can come back to all the wonderful memories as well. What do you think about this?

How To Set Goals And Stick To Them

Personally, I am someone who only functions when there is a goal to work up to. For the last two years, my goal was to graduate high school with good grades and that was what kept me going every day. After my exams were over I had a problem and ended up having a little crisis. Since I had no goal I had no reason to get up in the morning and do anything and I ended up feeling bad for weeks. That time taught me how important goals are for me.

I believe that setting yourself goals is crucial if you want to achieve anything in your life but it is also important that you set yourself realistic goals you can actually achieve. If you set yourself goals you can’t achieve you probably will end up frustrated and feel bad which is the opposite of what you want to happen. Today I want to share with you how I set my goals and what I do to achieve them.

1. Think about what you don’t like about your current situation

Sometimes it can be difficult to find a goal you want to achieve that are realistic. You can always set yourself the goal to become a unicorn but let’s be honest. That is never going to happen. But what you can do is to think about what you don’t like about your current situation and how you can change that. For example, you don’t like how messy your room is. Now that is something you can actually change. You can start by setting yourself the goal to tidy up your room every night before you go to sleep for at least five minutes, which leads me to my next point.

2. Break down your goals to specific tasks

You can always set yourself the goal to be cleaner but most of the time you will end up changing nothing but thinking about it. But if you do set yourself the goal to clean the kitchen once a day or to tidy up your room for five minutes before you go to bed you are more likely to actually do it because you have one specific task.

3. Work your goal into your daily routine

I want to come back to my example of cleaning your room before you go to bed one more time. There are two ways to set your goal. You can either say you want to clean your room at least for five minutes once a day or you can say you want to clean your room for at least five minutes before you go to bed. From my experience, I learned that when you do the first one you will end up putting it back over the whole day and end up doing nothing at all. If you don’t set yourself a specific time you will always have the thought of being able to do your task later in the back of your mind. Another reason why it helps to work your goal into your daily routine is that it is a lot easier to stick to it if it becomes part of your routine.

4. Write it down

I am a fan of writing everything down but when it comes to setting yourself goals and sticking to them writing them down is crucial for me. When you write your goals down your idea becomes a plan. Personally, I like to write down my goals in my journal but you can also write them down on flashcards and put them up in your room to constantly remind yourself of them.

5. Share your goals

If I tell someone about my goals I feel like I am bound to them. Now that I told someone I have to do it or else it will look stupid. If your goals aren’t too personal you can always share them online or you can tell them a friend. Maybe you will find someone who has the same goal and you can work towards it together by motivating each other. I have always wanted to try that.
